P.A.T.H. | P for “PAUSE” (video)

P for PAUSE💡 In a recent post, I introduced the P.A.T.H. framework — a simple acronym I coined to help myself reconnect, grow + chart a clear (a-hem) "PATH" forward with clarity & intention. 🤓

Over the next few posts & videos I’ll explore it a bit more, including some resources that have helped my own development — starting with P for PAUSE.

Pausing isn’t about stopping — it’s more about recalibrating. It’s a deliberate practice of just getting quiet, centering ourselves, and letting the noise fall away.

And in that stillness, we create space to:

✨ Listen to our inner voice.

✨ Reflect on what matters most.

✨ Reset & focus w/ greater clarity.

How Can Pausing Support Self-Development?

✨ Helps us tune in to our inner voice + reconnect with our values.

✨ Creates mental & emotional space to even consider intentional growth.

✨ Can help shift us into proactive planning (rather than reactive/passive development).

Three Resources That Help Me Pause:

1️⃣ Meditation: There are so many ways to meditate. New to the practice and want a free, killer intro course from one of the best? 👉 Sara Blondin's "Learn How to Meditate in 7 Days" (Insight Timer course)

2️⃣ (Tech-Free) Walks in Nature: Detaching from technology and getting outside for 15-30 minutes has gifted me some of my favorite ideas and career a-ha moments. 👉 The Mental Health Benefits of Nature (Mayo Clinic article)

3️⃣ Morning Pages: A fascinating way to unravel your mind at the top of the day — and I find the results compound over time. A core component from “The Artist's Way” that I’ve practiced for nearly 30 years! 👉 Morning Pages by Julia Cameron (YouTube interview: Julia Cameron x Fearne Cotton)

These small practices have made a HUGE difference in my own growth. Where could a quiet PAUSE lead YOU this week — and how might it bring you closer to your P.A.T.H. forward? 🌟
