Finding your P.A.T.H. | My Framework for Self-Development (video)
💡From personal experience, I know self-development can sometimes feel overwhelming. Over the years, I've coined a framework that has helped me focus on key components (shared in this video).
Each step of P.A.T.H. can work independently yet, together, for me, they've created a meaningful strategy for growth (and who doesn't love a good acronym 🤓):
✨ P for Pause: Getting quiet, reflecting & reconnecting with what matters.
✨ A for Align: Identifying one's values + ensuring our actions reflect them.
✨ T for Target: Visioning a long-term future + breaking it down into actionable goals.
✨ H for Honor: Honoring one's ambition by showing up daily with the habits & behaviors that support the vision.
The same principles that help us grow individually can create momentum for teams & organizations. 🤓 In fact, the brand geek in me realized this framework also mirrors how I lead teams and how many companies shape strategies:
🎯 Pause: Off-sites to step back from our day-to-day routines + reconnect with purpose (and each other).
🎯 Align: Annual meetings to reaffirm core values + align on a mission.
🎯 Target: Long-term planning, quarterly goals & KPIs to focus ambition.
🎯 Honor: Day-to-day execution through teams, projects, meetings, reporting + check-ins to stay accountable.
For me, this approach has been simple yet powerful.
Over the next few posts, I'll share a little more about each step, including a resource or two that's served me (& others!) well, along with why each step matters — whether you’re an individual, a leader, or in L&D. 🌟 I’ll start with 'P' (Pause) in my next post and show why it’s an essential first step for creating clarity and momentum in personal & professional growth.
💫 Development is deeply personal — and the practices that resonate with one person might not with another. That’s what makes sharing our journeys so powerful. I’d be curious to hear what approaches have worked for others — or even what hasn’t!
