“What Is A Learning Philosophy?” (1 min)

Many orgs have Marketing / Product / Design / Service philosophies. Why not also articulate what we believe about People Development? 💁‍♀️

A Learning Philosophy sits between the brand strategy and our initiatives.

➤ It gives our teams shared language + accountability for what good learning looks like through a lens of the culture we're building.
➤ It tells our people what we stand for with regard to development.
➤ An L.P. can also act as a filter for new OR borrowed learning frameworks (Radical Candor, Growth Mindset, the latest trend), helping us translate these into experiences that sound like our brands and not something we've Frankensteined onto our existing systems. 🧟‍♂️

🎖️Bonus: a Learning Philosophy can become a compelling piece of employer branding, attracting candidates who are seeking a company they can grow with.

Today, especially with so much AI + self-directed learning happening between our programming, that shared North Star matters more than ever. We can have 500 people developing themselves on leadership, sales, communication — all super-COMPETENT — but not necessarily super-COHERENT, moving together in the direction of a shared cultural ambition.

🎥 From the main stage at GoTech World, I walked through what a Learning Philosophy is, how my team built one at On, what I learned from the experience, and how it informs the cultural work I partner with my clients on via DAY   |   WON. If any of this sounds like something your team could benefit from, I'd welcome the conversation.
